POSITION DETAILS

Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Administrative Organizational and Business Effectiveness Specialist will administer all aspects of the CIO’s portfolio, including administrative undertakings and initiatives using planning, monitoring, and controlling processes to ensure success. The individual is responsible for establishing and maintaining the central operational program and project portfolio for Queens College IT. The individual achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; resolving problems; determining improvements and implementing change. The individual will provide project and operational management updates and report the status of all significant projects and operational management goals for the functions within IT.

Responsibilities:
• Serve as the CIO representative working closely with the CIO, IT Senior Staff, and Queens College Cabinet Members for monitoring and implementing divisional projects and priorities.
• Work closely with sponsors, stakeholders, campus departments and administrative staff to make planning assumptions for projects by identifying project scope, goals and deliverables, resources and timelines.
• Provide support by tracking milestone completion and following up on outstanding matters pertaining to operational and student success with IT Leadership.
• Work alongside the CIO to ensure workflow (standard operating procedure) compliance and timely project completion
• Collaborate with project team members during audits and assessments.
• Monitor changes made to implemented management plans and provide written documentation to the CIO
• Manage overall I.T. recruitment.
• Manage and prepare high-level correspondence, internal and external communications on behalf of the CIO and I.T.
• Organize and conduct team meetings; prepare oral and written presentations regarding ongoing or completed projects and operational objectives
• Manage and analyze reporting data needed by executive team to identify problems and successes.
• Oversee the development and distribution of I.T. communications and marketing.
• Oversee department operations and assist management in planning department activities, creating schedules, assigning staff, preparing and delivering department communications.
• Resolve administrative and business issues in support of a technology-enhanced teaching and learning environment.
• Collaborate with I.T. leadership to assist in determining and prioritizing business strategies.
• May supervise staff

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in a higher education environment
• Experience with CUNYfirst
• Experience with recruitment in higher education
• Experience with Fresh Service or similar IT ticketing systems
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills; must have and demonstrate ability to effectively communicate with faculty/administrators, vendors, and technical and non-technical professionals.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Salary ranges $72,667 – $90,375

Salary commensurate with education and experience.
