About the opportunity
Ontra is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to help propel the future of legal tech AI using data.
The legal industry has remained fairly unchanged for years, however, recent advances in AI present a unique opportunity to change it. Now imagine, you combine the power of AI with a proprietary data set, and a legal network of skilled professionals, that's the opportunity waiting to be unleashed by the Staff Data Scientist.
The Staff Data Scientist will work with product stakeholders to identify areas where data insights can provide business value and will devise data projects that address those needs. When executing on these projects, the Data Scientist will be both hands-on and a technical lead: contributing and guiding other Data team members’ efforts to uncover valuable insights from our legal data sets that inform product development and business strategy.
As you combine your data expertise with growing knowledge of Ontra’s products and business, you also will lead efforts to define the future of how data will be used at Ontra to power business growth.
What you’ll do
• Influence product development: Using your expertise in advanced data methodologies, collaborate with the Machine Learning team to identify opportunities and build solutions to help scale our machine learning product development
• Grow relationships and data culture: Build strong relationships with product managers and your machine learning colleagues.
• Democratize data insights: Perform statistical analyses and create informative data visualizations that deliver value to stakeholders across the organization
• Inform strategy: Collaborate with product and business leaders to develop metrics and dashboards that support company objectives and key results (OKRs)
• Serve as a subject-matter expert: Provide guidance both to stakeholders on how to use data in decision making
• Be a technical mentor: Provide technical leadership to peers to help them deliver on projects and grow their skill sets
What you’ll bring
• Track record of delivering tangible impact: 6+ years experience manipulating data sets to get insights that drive business outcomes
