Director II Account Management

Location:  This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within commuting distance to New York City, where they will be required to be in person three days a week at the office or at an alternative location serving the market.

The Director II Account Management is responsible for leading their team and directing activities for large group accounts with medical and specialty products to meet client retention and growth goals.

How you will make an impact:
• Develops strategies and executes client retention and sales plans to achieve membership retention, growth and financial goals.
• Provides leadership and strategic direction to a high performing account management team.
• Develops solutions to client requests related to systems, finance, clinical support, etc.
• Develops and motivates staff to achieve common goals.
• Develops and implements strategies to create a superior customer value proposition and positions Anthem New York as an industry leader.
• Assesses staff and collaborates on key decisions to hire and retain the best talent.
• Leads a successful and transformative shift where needed to drive improved results for clients and their membership.
• Ensure profitable client retention and support overall strategic direction for New York, one of Anthem’s largest and most visible markets.
• Promotes company culture through building and leading a successful team that is committed to execution, collaboration, and a positive environment.
• Connect with the external market to maintain competitive differentiation and advantage; consistently monitor market dynamics and customer feedback.
• Develop and cultivate strong relationships with all stakeholders including clients,
brokers, industry groups, regulatory and senior management.
• Collaborate across the enterprise to drive innovation and improve cost of care and quality of care/outcomes for members, customers, and other key stakeholders.
• A leader who understands the evolving healthcare market and the potential implications on Anthem’s business, including customer segment priorities, the need for greater competitive differentiation, emerging customer needs, value-driven health care, etc.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 8 years of professional/leadership experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experience:
• Excellent managerial and leadership skills strongly preferred.
• Proven history of retaining and growing membership and identifying innovative opportunities is preferred.
• Experienced innovator with the ability to move with speed and agility considering the progressive and highly competitive nature of the business.
• Demonstrated success facilitating strong internal working relationships in a matrix environment.
• Understands the drivers in the healthcare economy with a demonstrated history of developing strategies to support organic growth initiatives within managed care.
• Strong financial skills to build and support competitive product positioning and client retention.
• Experience evolving a value proposition into new and emerging services and profitable revenue streams.
• A proven manager and leader who builds high-performing teams and creates a culture of performance, transparency, and accountability preferred.
• An excellent motivator and communicator who is charismatic, enthusiastic, action-oriented, and confident preferred.
• High integrity and credibility as perceived by all those with whom he/she will work and interact preferred.

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $180,288 to $270,432.
