Definition of Class
This position serves as a customer service representative for the Department of Parking & Transportation by providing information, processing permits and citations, receiving payments, and reconciling financial transactions.
This position patrols and monitors parking lots, garages, and streets to ensure compliance with the rules and regulations of the Department of Parking and Transportation. The incumbent engages in communication with drivers, issues citations for parking violations, and is responsible for vehicle immobilization when warranted. A current standard driver's license is required as the incumbent will be operating department vehicles equipped with various enforcement technologies. Incumbent will be trained and required to operate small cell-phone like devices running relevant software applications as part of their duties.
Examples of Work Performed
• Assists faculty, staff, students and the general public by providing information concerning parking-related matters.
• Gathers and receives information needed for processing and issuing permits.
• Reviews citations and makes determination to process or dismiss.
• Prepares credit memos when credits are required. sues special parking, vendor, and visitor permits.
• Reconciles cash drawer daily to ensure proper balances.
• Assists in the preparation of internal audits for permits and verifies information on error reports.
• Answers general questions of the public, answers questions and resolves conflicts relating to vehicle registration and parking.
• Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.
Essential Functions

• Provides information to faculty, staff, students, and the general public.
• Processes citations and permits.
• Completes financial transactions for permits, citations, and/or other miscellaneous items.
Minimum Education/Experience
Education:
Graduation from a standard four-year high school or equivalent (GED).
AND
Experience:
One (1) year of experience related to the above described duties.
Licensure:
Must have a valid driver’s license within first thirty (30) days of employment.
