Your Impact & Responsibilities
As a Data Engineer at SRC, you'll design data models, build and maintain pipelines, and address long-term storage and warehousing needs.
Your work will be key to ensuring seamless data communication within our application stack and to our users. By architecting a robust storage solution, you'll help deliver critical patient safety metrics to medical facilities and professionals. You will:
• Lead the development of a comprehensive data strategy, including storage technology assessment, data modeling, and capacity planning.
• Propose, prototype, and implement scalable data storage solutions using distributed databases, data lakes, or cloud-based systems.
• Execute application and database changes to support existing use cases.
• Implement and maintain real-time data pipelines.
• Develop integrations across applications and data sources to unify and streamline analysis and reporting.
• Identify and automate data quality testing and performance monitoring.
• Promote data security by proactively identifying and addressing concerns.
• Ensure proper segregation of participant information using appropriate storage techniques.
• Champion data best practices and standards to foster a culture of excellence.
• Collaborate on modeling and organizing data flows from front-end to database for efficient handling and retrieval.
We’re Looking for Someone Who
• 3+ years of data engineering experience with a proven ability to drive data initiatives and deliver results.
• 2+ years of experience developing and maintaining full-stack applications using C# and Angular/TypeScript.
• Proficient in identifying and visualizing complex data relationships for improved accessibility.
• Skilled in SQL, capable of querying, modifying tables, executing migrations, and editing stored procedures for efficient database management.
• Understands the importance of production support and is willing to participate in the support rotation.
• Hands-on experience in designing, planning, and implementing data infrastructure and products.
• Experienced with relational and document databases (SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, CouchDB) and selecting the best fit for each use case.
• Passionate about data processing pipelines, with expertise in streaming tools like Apache Kafka and Apache Spark.
• Able to build and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
• Proficient in setting up data warehouses and data lakes using MongoDB, AWS Redshift, and Snowflake to ensure accessibility and performance.
• Familiar with Linux environments and adept in shell commands for system administration, automation, and scripting.
• Deep understanding of AWS services, leveraging cloud-based solutions for data storage, analytics, and infrastructure.
• Strong work ethic with a commitment to one week of annual in-person collaboration.
• Thrives in fast-paced environments and embraces challenges in a dynamic workplace.
• Proactive mindset, contributing at all stages of the development lifecycle.
• Committed to long-term leadership growth within the organization.
• Uses an evidence-based approach to decision-making and builds team consensus.
