Visiting Faculty Position in Mathematics
The Macalester College Department of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science invites applications for one or more one-year non-tenure-track visiting positions in mathematics to begin Fall 2025. These positions may be renewable for an additional year, depending upon staffing needs and a review of teaching.
Candidates must have or be completing a PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field. The teaching load is five course sections per year, with two distinct course preparations. This individual will participate in all aspects of the program and can receive mentorship in teaching, curricular design, and research. Information on benefits and compensation is provided below. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. In addition, candidates relying on an OPT Visa with a STEM extension are not eligible for hire.

About the MSCS Department
The Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science (MSCS) Department offers four distinct majors: Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, and Data Science. It is the largest department on campus in terms of enrollments and majors – roughly 20% of the 2025 graduating class (approximately 100 students) will earn at least one MSCS major. Our faculty embrace the rich multidisciplinary, collegial, and collaborative nature of our joint department.
