Job Summary:
The BI Data Engineer III is responsible for engineering, architecting, developing, and implementing unique and innovative enterprise wide, graphics-based, business intelligence solutions that deliver actionable information to the business with a high degree of impact.
Essential Functions:
• Collaborate across technical and non-technical users engineer, design, develop, and implement unique and innovative enterprise wide, business intelligence solutions that deliver actionable information to the business with a high degree of impact.
• Model, design, and guide on curated layers of data that empower end users to leverage standard data models for solutions and self-service with ease.
• Establish an expertise on BI toolsets and provide ongoing mentorship to develop best practice principles for engineering, developing, and analyzing BI Semantic models using those BI tools.
• Develop, influence, and advance the long-term business intelligence strategy on technology, road maps, tools, and analytics.
• Maintain, monitor, and configure business intelligence platform (Power BI Premium capacity) while conducting and advising on performance tuning techniques and recommending features and settings.
• Curate, produce and author business intelligence articles highlighting technical awareness within the enterprise through innovative distribution methods.
• Foster research and development on the latest BI platform functionality and provide recommendations on strategies for integrating into our existing BI ecosystem.
• Direct and advise on the logical and physical design of data sources, such as Data Marts, Enterprise Data Warehouse, Flat Files etc. to ensure integration of information through BI tools.
• Support the BI CoE (Enablement) as an expert in strong BI processes, standards, and governance for the company.
• Maintain deep technical and business knowledge of the BI application platform, industry directions, and trends.
• Conduct examination and explanation of complex data relationships to answer questions identified by the business/markets.
• Possess and maintain an understanding of department, market, and enterprise strategies and operational objectives, including their linkages to related areas.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience is required.
• Minimum of five to seven (5 – 7) years of experience in business intelligence development / analysis is required.
• Proven ability in delivering business intelligence solutions to improve processes within organizations required.
• Healthcare experience is preferred.
Competencies, Knowledge and Skills:
• Ability to lead business intelligence and BI modeling efforts.
• Versed in designing, developing, and implementing Microsoft BI technologies.
• Comfortable formulating recommendations based on ambiguous requirements / definitions.
• Experience in deciphering business problems and creating data driven solutions which drive strategic business objectives.
• Passion for continual improvement to initiate change.
• Aspiration to learn new competencies and skills.
• Strong knowledge of database design & data modeling techniques within a BI platform
• Strong graphic development/presentation skills
• Exceptional programming skills (SQL, DAX, M Query and Excel)
• Strong analytical, evaluative, problem solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in both written and verbal communications to all levels of leadership
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Power BI Paginated Reporting experience preferred.
• Power BI Platform experience preferred.
• Cloud expertise within Azure DataBricks is a plus.
• Azure Synapse experience preferred
Working Conditions:
• General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Compensation Range:
$90,500.00 - $158,400.00 CareSource takes into consideration a combination of a candidate’s education, training, and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required for the role, and other external and internal data when establishing a salary level.
