Summary Description:

The Jackson Clinics is seeking qualified individuals who are willing to devote their efforts to improve human lives; those of our patients, each other, and our greater community.

This is a clinical position that involves rehabilitating patients who have injuries/illnesses that may be improved through therapeutic intervention to help manage pain and increase function.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Efficiently plan and prepare written treatment program based on evaluation of patient data

• Plan and administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatment for patients suffering from muscle, nerve, joint, and bone diseases or physical injuries in efforts to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability

• Communicate with physicians and review physician referrals/prescription to determine treatment plan

• Confer with physician and other practitioners to obtain additional patient information, suggest revisions in treatment program, interpret test results, and integrate physical therapy treatment with other aspects of patient’s health care

• Test and measure patient’s strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency, and document findings to develop and revise treatment programs

• Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjusts treatments to achieve maximum benefit

• Administer physical therapy treatments by using manual techniques, therapeutic modalities (including moist heat, cold /compression, electro-stimulation, and ultrasound), massage techniques, and traction equipment to relieve pain and improve/maintain function

• Administer physical therapy treatments using or treatments within PT’s scope of practice and TJC’s internal practice expectations, policies and procedures

• Instruct, motivate, and assist patients to perform various physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, daily living activities, supportive devices (including but not limited to crutches, canes, and prostheses), and all other activities that promote physical health

• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies

• Continuously evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefits; record treatment, responses, and progress notes in patient’s record in compliance with TJC’s quality assurance guidelines

• Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; recommending and/or providing assistive equipment; recommending outpatient or home health follow-up programs

• Orient, instruct, and direct work activities of assistants, aides, and students; oversee assistant’s documentation and direct treatment accordingly

• Able to perform front desk duties including checking voicemail and answering/returning calls, printing day sheet, collecting co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles, processing DME orders, and explaining EOB’s

• Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, and troubleshooting malfunctions or informing administration of repair needs

• Maintain a safe and clean environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

• Participate in weekly staff meetings and contribute daily to team efforts of accomplishing clinic related goals and other duties as required by business needs

• Participate in the community relations, marketing, and professional development discussions when attending the mandatory All Staff Meetings

• Required to adhere to all HIPPA regulations and guidelines

• Required to adhere to all OSHA guidelines while handling blood or bodily fluids

Functional Requirements:
