Medical Research Technician

Summary
Position involves working under the direction of Principle Investigator or other designated supervisors, in the studies of cerebral and coronary arteries or cultured vascular and/or neuronal cells in order to characterize mechanisms of normal responses as well as how disease conditions will affect responses. The technician will conduct under supervision in vivo and in vitro experiments to determine the effect and mechanisms of action of vasoactive drugs on cerebral and coronary arteries. The technician will work effectively with other laboratory personnel including Post Docs, technicians, and students. The tech should be familiar with a variety of approaches including video microscopic dimensional analysis of pressurized arterioles, confocal microscopy imaging calcium, reactive oxygen species and membrane potential, immunofluorescence, and performing western blotting and RT-PCR on arteries and tissues.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Molecular Biology Techniques
- Experience with biochemical enzyme assay, microscopy, and cell culture preferred.
- Must have good organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.

Required Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree - Prior laboratory research experience with cell culture and molecular biology techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in neuroscience, or any biomedical science.

Compensation Information
