Program Manager, Training

The Program Manager of Training assists with the execution of the API-U training program’s expansion strategy. Handles the scheduling and assignment of training, observations, and evaluation and qualification of contracted personnel.

Plays a key role in the development of new instructor-led courses for the API-U program. Ensures that invoicing, billing, and collections are processed in accordance with Finance and API program requirements. Provides support to the API-U Program through the coordination and execution of designated activities and manage project(s) in support of the Director, Training Programs.

Duties/Responsibilities
• Works with Legal and Finance on contracts for API-U training providers and auditors.
• Reviews faculty application paperwork.
• Reviews observation reports and makes recommendations for granting, maintaining, or cancelling training providers based on the results of the review.
• Prepares action letters for granting, maintaining, or cancelling API-U training providers and approved courses.
• Provides guidance to API-U course auditors when needed.
• Maintains API-U instructor and course records.
• Works with API-U faculty to schedule training courses
• Interacts directly with customers, clients, and auditors on issues related to training program activities.
• Markets program activities, when needed.
• Attends industry related trade shows and events, when required.
• Performs other tasks assigned by the Senior Manager, Training and Development.
• Provides support of training projects including (but not limited to) the documentation of processes, revision of program requirements, and resolution of complaints.
• Coordinates and manages project(s) assigned by the Senior Manager, Training and Development.
• Updates and maintains the API-U training website.
• Manages royalty fee collection and processing as well as student data collection from training providers.
• Coordinates API-U training events.
• Assists Director, Training Programs with budgets.

Key Relationships
• Reports to the API Director, Training Programs.
• No supervisory responsibilities are involved in the position.
• Corresponds with training providers, applicants, clients, and auditors via various forms of communications daily.

Qualifications
• Requires 5-7 years of experience in a similar role and subject matter expertise.
• Bachelor's degree in relevant area, or other related field equivalent work experience.
• Degree in business or technical discipline preferred.
• Experience in training, sales and marketing, or within the petroleum industry.
• Ability to acquire technical skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Suite of products as well as SharePoint with an aptitude to learn other computer programs quickly.
• Project management experience preferred.
• Ability to research and assimilate information accurately from a variety of sources desired.
• Ability to effectively manage simultaneous assignments with minimal supervision.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Understanding of business processes preferred.
• Customer service aptitude.
• Excellent communication, writing (including process documentation), analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and adhere to program policies and procedures.
• Ability to work in a global environment and understand and adapt to different cultures.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements
• Able to remain in a stationary position working on a computer
• Move about the office to access office machinery, meeting rooms, etc. on occasion
• Operate a computer and other office machinery such as printers and copy machines
• Transport items and equipment up to 10 lbs. on occasion

Travel Requirements
• Up to 25%
