They have strong ambitions to continue expansion across the US and Europe over the next 5 years. This role is a key part of this expansion.
The Director of Global Procurement is the leader responsible for developing and driving the Procurement vision with key colleagues in the division. This role sits on the global leadership team and will be a key partner to the divisional operations leader with a focus on strategy, execution and implementation. This position will facilitate the development and execution of long-term strategy that will optimize quality, cycle/response time, technology, risk, and costs. The role will mitigate risk, use technology, improve processes and systems, and reduce the overall cost of ownership and acquisition.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic vision and leadership for the Global Procurement team
• Engage with Supplier Partners, ensuring capacity to meet demand and works with Category Management to close gaps
• Drive and track compliance for indirect materials, as well as link with Global team for policies and procedures
• Provide the leadership to the procurement team with recommendations and consultation to determine key performance indicators and metrics for overall team performance.
• Drive change for business transformation initiatives through the procurement Domain Heads.
Required Experience:
• 10-15 years of pharmaceutical and/or biopharma experience
• Must have CRO experience
• Experience leading and developing a global procurement team
• Strong system/ERP knowledge and experience
• Experience in managing the scoping of clinical vendor services for complex sponsor protocols and familiarity with vendor startup/operational activities during maintenance phase.
