Junior Estimator

Our Client:

Our client is a national provider of clean energy and decarbonization solutions to C&I businesses, real estate operators, large-scale facilities including manufacturing/storage, schools and universities, and government agencies.

🌟 Responsibilities:
• Prepare and analyze cost models during the Design Development and/or bidding period.
• Maintain a solid Database of EPC pricing that will be used during the bidding process.
• Assure that estimates, including general conditions, are accurate, complete and reflect the actual requirements of the project. This includes assuring that there are an adequate number of qualified and financially sound subcontractor proposals received and evaluated.
• Assure that potential risk factors have been evaluated and reviewed with senior management (i.e. Peer Review, if required, contract bond authorization, contract review, insurance review, etc.)
• Maintain an EPC Contractor / Subcontractor database and current evaluations utilizing the Vetting process criteria created internally.
• Review contracts and major purchase orders prior to issuance for compliance with the documents and the estimate.
• Coordinate and assure that a preliminary construction schedule has been developed for each estimate.
• Assist with providing monthly cost analysis for all active preconstruction assignments.
• Organize the transition meeting between the project management team and the preconstruction team and coordinate follow-up meetings for assigned projects.
• Proactively identify and solve problems to minimize risk.
• Keep current on changes and trends in methods of construction and materials, construction costs, wage rates, fringes and working rules.
• Identify and assist with qualifying new material suppliers and subcontractors and place into subcontractor database.

🎓 Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 1-3 years of progressive construction estimating experience with at least 1 year of solar energy experience is a MUST.
• Experience within a leading renewable energy, general contracting, real estate development or commercial construction firm.
• Strong history of cost management and control, continuous cost reduction methods.
• Strong organizational and scheduling skills to manage the activities of internal and external resouces.
• Project level financial responsibility, budget creation and management.
• Knowledge of contracting processes, subcontractor relationship management, conflict management and risk mitigation.
• High level of comfort interacting with senior management levels internally and externally.

📍Location:
• New York, NY preferred or Remote.
• Travel Requirements: Expected to visit the office 3-4 times a year.

💰 Compensation:
• $90,000-$110,000 base salary
