Project - Data Management Services team: they recently moved their On-Prem Data Warehouse from various OpCo's to Snowflake Cloud. One of their back office systems is moving from Peoplesoft to Oracle Fusion and that data also needs to move to Snowflake Cloud System to build data reports. This is supporting Allegis Group's Evolve & Onboarding initiatives.
Top Requirements:
• Technical leadership - they need a test lead who can take charge of proof of concepting of new tools and present them to the architects and stakeholders. They have to research the tool, what the challenges would be, what the risks are, what the cost would be, etc. and present that to the architects. They do not need people management leadership skills. They need TECHNICAL leadership - designing a solution and problem solving.
• ETL automation is a must have (ICEDQ, Data Q, Big Eval, QualiDI, ETL Validator).
• ETL testing experience and high expertise on the SQL side; one ETL and one reporting tool is a must.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines: Jenkins, Maven, Bamboo, GitLab - any of them is fine.
• Tableau experience preferred.
The Test Lead plans, implements, tests, documents, and maintains solutions for integration and testing of in-house developed and COTS components, elements, subsystems and/or systems. The Test Lead synthesizes customer needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints. Establishes functional and technical specifications and standards, solves interface problems, defines input/output parameters, and ensures integration of the entire system or subsystem.
Reviews, evaluates and derives requirements for testability, develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for complete systems and subsystems. Coordinates subsystem and/or system testing activities with other delivery areas, vendors and cross-functional teams to ensure quality standards are met. Develops new and edits existing quality control processes for continuous improvement. Performs analysis of test results and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations to verify and validate system performance. Performs integration and regression testing to verify/validate and incorporate fixes to software, components, subsystems, and systems. Monitors trends in failures and malfunctions to verify consistency of designs.
The Test Lead monitors product and service testing to validate quality before implementation. Follows problem management process to evaluate and resolve problems related to quality. Develops and implements testing methodology to maintain continuous improvement of quality assurance standards.
Candidates for this position have expanded beyond practical applications of the discipline to knowledge gained from guiding how Allegis should apply the principles and concepts within the discipline and interpreting the complexities of the discipline.
Essential Functions:
• Performs tests in adherence to organization’s testing methodology and processes.
• Creates and executes detailed test plans to assess functional, technical and integration performance.
• Develop testing scripts to automate test cases where possible; performs manual testing where necessary.
• Identifies, categorizes and reports defects in agreed upon system for accurate results.
• Reviews and evaluates test results to determine proper repair procedures.
• Completes testing prior to deadlines and develops status reports for the Project Lead/Manager.
• Resolves malfunctions as quickly as possible to avoid disruptions in service.
• Recommends design changes to improve performance standards and ensure quality output.
• Coordinates/leads cross-functional projects and junior test engineers.
• Will achieve through work experience a deep, specialized expertise in ETL and Integration testing.
• Should have a strong understanding of the SDLC process as well as Agile principles.
• Will work closely with Project Managers, developers, analyst, and at times the OpCo’s.
Budget Responsibility:
• Providing accurate LOE’s and adhering to timelines as well as escalating to management where applicable to help mitigate cost.
• No direct budgeting responsibilities.
Requisite Abilities and/or Skills:
• Requires depth of expertise in own discipline to be able to guide others in the application of principles and concepts and to interpret complexities, nuances.
• Assignments at this level are typically more complex or unusual than those at the previous level.
• Incumbents assist with establishing protocols and processes for the discipline.
• Sufficient knowledge to guide the application of best practices within Information Services.
• Uses industry understanding to drive decision-making beyond best practices.
• Interprets internal/external business challenge, assesses current/industry practices and selects best practices to improve products, processes or services.
