About The Opportunity

The eBay Talent team is focused on accelerating and reimagining talent practices that enable us to hire, grow and develop employees to achieve success and impact. As Director, Talent Management, you will lead a centralized talent management team with responsibility for performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, internal mobility, and assessment practices across eBay. Reporting to the VP, Talent, this high-visibility role will drive strategic company-wide initiatives that have a real impact on advancing eBay’s trajectory and transformation.

Responsibilities
• Performance Management: Oversee the redesign and optimization of performance management processes, using Workday and other technology platforms. This will include a focus on goal setting, feedback, individual development and alignment to rewards and promotions.
• Talent Reviews: Refresh and simplify talent review processes to create a consistent, objective and easy-to-use approach that objectively identifies top talent and provides a view of eBays’ top talent to the executive team and Board.
• Succession Planning: Linked to talent review, uplevel the approach to succession planning to support executive and non-executive talent planning.
• High-potential Talent: Evolve standard processes for tracking, promoting and moving talent, especially high-potential and leadership
• Internal Mobility: Own the process for internal mobility and partner with Talent Acquisition to drive internal mobility, ensure high-potential talent is prioritized for critical positions and internal career growth opportunities are available to support retention of talent.
• Retention: Work closely with the Talent Development, Rewards, People Experience and DEI teams to create and optimize retention plans to help engage eBay talent for the long term. This will include building career paths, working with leadership program participants, internal mobility and employee experience initiatives.
• People Leadership: Lead a small team, with additional indirect program support. Cultivate close partnerships with People Business Partners, business leaders and People team leaders.
• Assessments: Partner with Talent Development to enhance and embed a behavioral framework across assessments, talent review, performance management, succession planning and promotion processes.
• Insights & impact: Work with People data teams to determine appropriate talent metrics to measure progress and impact of programs; Own the design and sharing of insights to executives and across the company.
• Technology innovation: recommend and help implement appropriate technology solutions to optimize talent management processes.
• Strategic Program leadership: Propose, plan and lead programs end-to-end; build clear program vision, plan, timeline, partner maps, communications plan and enablement of cross-functional partners.
• Business partnering: Be an expert advisor to executive leadership around talent management needs, risks and solutions. Collaborate with the Head of Talent Acquisition, Head of Talent Development, DEI team and HRBPs, to deliver new talent management solutions that meet business needs and improve the eBay culture.

What We’re Looking For
• Experienced talent management professional with at least 10 years’ experience in developing and leading Talent management programs from strategy to implementation in a global, matrix environment
• People leadership experience, used to leading people directly and indirectly and working cross-functionally to lead talent initiatives
• Experience in crafting and implementing scalable solutions including performance management, talent reviews and high-potential talent management is crucial.
• Ability to develop relationships and partnerships (internal/external) across all levels of the organization, exhibiting strong leadership and influencing skills.
