Market Development Department The Market Development (MD) team is responsible for 3 key functions within our NA business: 1) Market strategy, 2) site selection & acquisition, and 3) vertical market expansion planning. The MD team leads all aspects of the land and due diligence budget and execution for market expansions across North America, including identification of new markets, expansion planning efforts and completion of schematic design for handoff to construction. We are at the front-end of the process of ensuring we have the critical capacity required to meet the evolving requirements of our wholesale and hyperscale customer base. We evaluate supply, demand, pricing, power availability and other market factors to guide site acquisition, site development and construction when developing our market plans. The team collaborates with Sales, Solution Engineering, Construction, Operations, Finance and Senior Management along the way. Position Overview We are seeking a highly analytical, creative, and strategic Market Strategy Analyst to join our Market Development team! The ideal candidate's main responsibilities will be conducting market research, analyzing industry trends, and developing strategic proposals to drive the growth and expansion of our data center land acquisition efforts. This role requires a deep understanding of market analysis, strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate advanced data into cohesive presentations and actionable insights! Experience working within the Data Center industry is a plus, but not required. This role can be based in any of our US locations: Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; Santa Clara, CA; or Ashburn, VA. In alignment with our flexible work policy. (3 days on site required, 2 days flexible). Essential Job Functions Market Research and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities in the data center sector. Work with our GIS team to integrate market insights into our technology platforms. Analyze market data, customer needs, and technological advancements to advise strategic decisions. Monitor and report on market dynamics, including supply and demand, pricing trends, and regulatory changes that will impact VDC land acquisition strategy. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Market Development team to develop and refine market entry and expansion strategies. Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support critical initiatives and business planning. Identify potential markets for expansion and assess the feasibility and risks associated with new market entry. Competitive Intelligence: Collect and analyze competitive intelligence to understand the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats posed by competitors. Track competitor activities, including new developments, partnerships, and market positioning. Data Analysis and Reporting: Use analytical tools and techniques to analyze market data and generate reports. Present findings and strategic recommendations to senior management and other partners in a clear and concise manner. Develop and maintain dashboards and other reporting tools to track key performance indicators (KPIs). Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Marketing, the rest of the Market Development team, and Finance teams to align market strategies with overall business goals. Support the development of marketing materials, sales presentations, and product positioning based on market insights. Additional duties as assigned by Management. Job Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or a related field. Experience: 3+ years of proven ability in market research, strategy, or analytics, preferably within the data center or technology industry. Skills: Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Smartsheet, Power BI, SQL). Excellent research skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.
