Responsibilities
DESCRIPTION:
The part-time Paraprofessional I performs a variety of specialized paraprofessional duties in specific disciplines. May tutor students at all levels of assigned academic disciplines, mentor staff, and assist with developing workshops and training. This position supports student who are writing in courses such as composition, speech, First Year Experience, humanities, history, social sciences, and more. Campus locations (Sanford/Lake Mary or Oviedo) may vary based on need.
Essential Functions
• Tutors College preparatory students and college-level students needing help at all levels of the assigned academic discipline.
• Mentors new tutors.
• Assists with development of workshops and training.
• Assists with developing functional paraprofessional programs.
• Attends mandatory tutor training seminars and other meetings.
• Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.
Required Qualifications
• Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
Desired Qualifications
• Associate of Arts degree from an accredited institution.
• Experience tutoring or teaching.

Work Environment And Special Considerations
• Works inside in an office or laboratory.
• Hours will vary (days, evenings, and weekends), up to twenty-nine hours per week during fall and spring semesters. Assignments during the summer semester may be less than twenty hours per week based on need.
• Campus locations vary based on need.

Pay Benefits And Work Schedule

$15.58 Hourly up to 29 hours per week.
