Business Unit Overview:

The Cash Management Group (CMG) at BlackRock offers a wide range of products and custom solutions to fit clients’ needs that includes securities lending, cash collateral, sweep activity and separate accounts. BlackRock’s cash management style is designed to meet each client’s objectives of capital preservation, liquidity, and yield – in that order.

BlackRock and its predecessor companies have been involved in the management of Money Market Funds (MMFs) since 1973, and today, BlackRock’s Cash Management Group (CMG) a business division within the BlackRock Global Markets group, is one of the world’s largest providers of cash management solutions to institutional and retail investors and manages approximately $724 billion (as of 9/30/2023) in cash assets globally. The firm’s success within Cash Management has come as a result of earning the trust of our clients through multiple interest rate cycles and a wide variety of market events as opposed to solely generating the highest yields.

Today the Cash Management Group provides solutions either directly or through intermediary partners for institutional and retail clients in more than 60 countries, including corporations, pension funds, foundations, endowments, official institutions, insurance companies, sub-advisory relationships, high net worth individuals, family offices, private banks, traditional and alternative investment managers.

Job Purpose/Background/Responsibilities:

The US Cash Management Sales team is seeking an account manager to support the sales function in building and maintaining relationships with clients across a variety of product, distribution and technology models. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to build and develop new and existing relationships with clients, understanding the entire sales / on-boarding process required to support the broader sales function, owning distributor platform set-ups and ensuring the effective running of the sales business for the team through maintenance of CRM and KPI systems.

The role will bring the individual into regular contact with stakeholders across the BlackRock business. Close interaction with all Cash business functions (Product Strategy, COO, Marketing and Portfolio Management) will be expected, as well as with other key businesses within BlackRock – counterparts in the Institutional and Retail sales teams, Legal and Compliance etc.

Primary responsibilities include:
• Establishing, developing and maintaining positive business and customer relationships:
• Owning the sales processes required to support the broader sales function (for example account opening and AML/KYC client query management, client reporting, record keeping and ongoing regulatory obligations)
• Working to coordinate efforts with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the new business account on-boarding process and technology platform setups are fulfilled effectively
• Escalating and resolving areas of concern or operational issues as raised by clients
• Maintaining CRM systems, sales pipeline and ensuring best practice record management across the sales function
• Supporting the sales team with development of sector / geographical strategy decks

Knowledge / Experience Required:
• Preferred minimum 2-3 years of sales experience within Financial Sector
• Knowledge of financial markets and understanding of the asset management industry
• A keen interest in the future of technology within the asset management sector
• Organizational, presentation and written communication skills
• Interpersonal skills to help foster an inclusive culture of teamwork and knowledge sharing
• Must have the Series 7

For California only the salary range for this position is $105,000 - $137,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
