DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Work on multiple projects solving different NLP problems for clients in the bank. Translate the business problem into an NLP problem and understand the Machine Learning (ML) algorithms appropriate for solving the NLP problem. Talk to clients to understand the problem they want to solve and the available data (mostly text data). Communicate with the client about how the results would be delivered and how the success of the project would be quantitatively measured. Use code in Python to implement the NLP/ML models. Present progress on problem resolutions regularly. Deliver solutions at the end of the project and describe future steps to improve the models if the client is interested in continuing the project. Suggest other areas where the NLP can be used to drive innovation. Work with other Data Science teams to help build solutions. Explain the methodology of good data science practices. Point to certain techniques and packages to solve data science problems. Provide APIs for certain pieces of problems involving more sophisticated techniques. Provide reusable components and frameworks to be used by other data science teams. Responsible for exploring and implementing the state-of-the-art techniques in NLP and ML for the bank. Describe these techniques to the other teams and make it available for everyone. Work with Model Governance to ensure that the ML/NLP models can be put into Production. Mentor interns who join the group.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Predictive Science, Applied AI ML Lead, AI Engineering, Machine Learning Engineer, Project Engineer, Data Scientist, or related occupation.
Skills Required: Requires 5 years of experience with the following: coding in Python, C, or C++; using Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Statistics; creating solutions to open-ended Natural Language Processing or other machine learning problems; basic table operations in SQL. Requires 3 years of experience with the following: Deep Learning architectures including DNNs, RNNs, and CNNs; Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing packages including Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, Keras, NumPy, SciPy, SpaCy, Gensim, and NLTK; Deep Learning: Deep Neural Networks, Convolutional Neural Networks, Recurrent Neural Networks, and transformers.
Job Location: 3223 Hanover St., Palo Alto, CA 94304. Telecommuting permitted up to 40% of the week.
Full-Time. Salary: $191,699 - $260,000 per year.
