What you'lldo

As a Data Engineer, you'llplay a key role in driving value for our customers by building datasolutions. You'll be carrying out data engineering tasks to build,maintain, test and optimise a scalable data architecture, as wellas carrying out data extractions, transforming data to make itusable to data analysts and scientists, and loading data into dataplatforms.

You'll alsobe:
• Developingcomprehensive knowledge of the bank's data structures and metrics,advocating change where needed for productdevelopment
• Practicing DevOps adoption in thedelivery of data engineering, proactively performing root causeanalysis and resolving issues
• Collaboratingclosely with core technology and architecture teams in the bank tobuild data knowledge and datasolutions
• Developing a clear understanding ofdata platform cost levers to build cost effective and strategicsolutions
• Sourcing new data using the mostappropriate tooling and integrating it into the overall solution todeliver for ourcustomers

Theskills you'll need

To besuccessful in this role, you'll need a good understanding of datausage and dependencies with wider teams and the end customer, aswell as experience of extracting value and features from largescale data.

You'll alsodemonstrate:
• Experienceof ETL technical design, data pipelines, data quality testing,cleansing and monitoring, data sourcing, and exploration andanalysis
• Hands on experience using KafkaandJavastreaming, Docker, Kubernetes, MongoDB,S3, Rest API andmicroservices on AWS or OnPrem
• Experience of Jenkins, GitLabbasedDevOps and CI or CDpipelines
• Experience ofusing programming languages, such as Java and Python alongsideknowledge of data and software engineeringfundamentals
• Good knowledge of modern codedevelopment practices
• Strong communicationskills with the ability to proactively engage with a wide range ofstakeholders
