WSP’s Visualization and Data Intelligence (VDI) 50-person national practice works on mission-driven professional services / consulting projects. VDI is a dynamic creative and results-oriented in-house design and technology innovation team supporting Future Ready projects that are shaping our communities. We focus on the intersection of visual communication and technology and our creatives and technologists of different disciplines regularly collaborate to deliver multifaceted visual products for our clients. WSP’s VDI practice is currently initiating a search for an Associate Consultant Video Producer (Junior Video Producer) for our national Video Services Team. Candidates in states with WSP offices on the US east coast, southeast, and south will be considered for this position. As part of the video team, you will work on multiple concurrent projects of varying levels of complexity for projects of both short- and long-term duration, in close collaboration with colleagues and clients. The workload is fluid and is driven by our client schedules and unique requirements. Our successful candidate must be highly motivated to work in a fast-paced and exciting consulting environment. VDI video producers are expected to maintain knowledge of and proficiency with the latest technologies and trends in the video production environment and are given support to research and employ new software technology and design/development techniques.
Your Impact
• Create highly polished video edits, motion graphics and audio solutions in support of national-level projects for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support, and sometimes lead, location-specific video shoots filming
• Provide consultation for script and storyboard development by working with clients and your WSP peers.
• Collaborate with other VDI design professionals to develop tailored, multi-disciplinary creative solutions that meet project needs.
• Consult with WSP peers and subject-matter experts on design process and the most effective solution for their communication challenge.
• Coordinate with WSP peers and subject-matter experts to interpret complex technical information and develop succinct visual stories that communicate those concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Work on several projects in parallel, with the expectation that priorities may shift and that you will receive help adjusting to those changed priorities.
• Maintain and grow relationships within WSP to continue to generate project work.
• Coordinate with the Video Team Lead on your schedule and design efforts to ensure consistently high-quality video deliverables and that deadlines are met.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
• A portfolio of relevant professional work with your role and contributions clearly identified for each example. No application will be considered without a portfolio and clear role explanations.
• Bachelor's degree in film science, videography, video editing, media production, or a closely allied education degree or specialized certification
• 1-3 years of progressively responsible video production experience.
• High proficiency in PC-based computers, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and other collaboration software/sites.
• Adept at virtual/remote communication
• Demonstrated proficiency and regular use of the Adobe Creative design suite: Premiere Pro, After Effects, Frame.io, Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat Pro.
• Demonstrated experience using video principals such as color, form, and balance to create image compositions to capture and hold an audience.
• Demonstrated experience planning and communicating ideas and messages using visual content.
• Demonstrated experience developing visual content for a variety of digital platforms.
• Professional demeanor and demonstrated ability to work alone while maintaining quality content.
• 25-50% travel
• Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
