Join Our Client’s Team as a Microsoft SQL Server DBA!

Are you an experienced SQL Server DBA? Our client is looking for a skilled DBA to assist enterprise application owners in migrating their systems to AWS and providing sustainment services. This role involves supporting applications through migration, modernization, and sustainment.

Security #Clearance:

\tDOD Secret (Fully Adjudicated), required

Required Certifications:

\tSecurity+ (or equivalent IA cert)
\tComputing Environment Certification (e.g., MCSA - SQL Server) strongly preferred

Key Responsibilities:

\tSQL Server DBA Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for evaluating and developing customer application database architectures to be deployed in Azure, utilizing cloud-native database services (PaaS vs IaaS).
\tCollaboration: Work with internal and external parties to transform high-level technical objectives into comprehensive technical requirements.
\tDatabase Infrastructure: Build and deploy database infrastructure for customer applications.
\tDatabase Sustainment: Provide sustainment of customer database systems, including installation, patching, upgrades, database schema administration, exports/imports, backup administration, and hardening.
\tCloud Services Planning: Assist with identifying and planning potential new cloud services, features, and capabilities.
\tContinuous Improvement: Recommend improvements for security, scalability, manageability, and performance across various technologies.

Required Skills:

\tExperience: Mid to senior level SQL Server DBA experience in a commercial cloud environment.
\tEnterprise Features: Experience with SQL Server enterprise features such as Always On Availability Groups, SSRS, and Microsoft clustering.
\tCertifications: Security+ (or equivalent IA cert) and computing environment certification (e.g., MCSA - SQL Server).
\tCommunication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
\tProject Management: Experience managing multiple large-scale projects.
\tAutomation: Experience automating routine administrative tasks is desired.
\tTechnical Understanding: Knowledge of network, storage, server, and application technologies.
\tAutomation Tools: Strong knowledge of automation concepts, tools, and scripting languages (PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef, etc.).
\tDoD Knowledge: Working knowledge of DoD STIGs and IA Vulnerability Management (IAVM).
