The Eastern Michigan University School of Music & Dance invites applications for a Part-Time Lecturer in Music Therapy. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in Music Therapy and related area courses on an as-needed basis. This part-time appointment (salaried only, no benefits) will begin in the Fall 2022 semester.Teaching may include a number of particular obligations which employees are expected to fulfill, including but not limited to: meeting with students during and outside of assigned classes, assessing student work and performance, preparing syllabi and course materials, providing copies of syllabi and course materials to their supervisor on request, and assigning and submitting grades in accordance with established Eastern Michigan University schedules.Minimum qualifications include:
• Master’s degree or equivalent (preferably in Music Therapy)
• Experience teaching at a college or university.
Preferred qualifications include:
• Doctoral degree or study towards a doctoral degree in Music Therapy or related field
• Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Music Therapy
• Experience teaching advanced topics in Music Therapy, including but not limited to research in music therapy; psychological aspects of musical behaviors and experience
• Experience with clinical fieldwork and supervision.
