Job Description
The Sales Manager will be responsible for the sales and business development of the company’s range of phosphonate products, with customers in the oilfield, water treatment, detergent and I&I sectors.
They will be responsible for building and managing relationships with key customers in the United States, achieving sales targets, understanding customer needs and working with colleagues to ensure that these needs are met.
The Sales Manager will be a member of the team responsible for formulating business growth strategy for the US market.
It is envisaged that the role will be based in the Houston area, close to key customers, but candidates based in other US locations with relevant experience will also be considered.
Job Requirements
Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years experience in sales / business development in the US specialty and performance chemicals market. They should have a broad understanding of the market for chemicals used in oilfield chemicals and water treatment (with detergents and I&I preferred in addition), understanding current and emerging trends, key players, competitive landscape and be able to identify opportunities and threats.
Experience of selling to major clients in the target market sectors (e.g. Veolia, ChampionX, Ecolab, etc.) is required.
Candidates should have a proven track record in customer relationship management and creation of value through understanding and meeting customer needs.
The Sales Manager should be a strong communicator, both verbally and in writing.
Candidates are expected to hold a degree in Chemistry or a closely related technical discipline, and be able to engage in technical conversations with customers. A post graduate business qualification would be an advantage.
