Your Role and Responsibilities

Role

As Portfolio Product Manager for IBM's Environmental Intelligence, and Climate solutions product within the Sustainability Software division, you will lead a team of product managers to deliver exceptional client value and drive strong business results. You will own the product strategy, ensuring the solution maintains product-market fit and aligns with a clear vision centered around our North Star metric. In this role, you will:
• Lead the development and execution of product strategy, vision, and goals.
• Align and motivate cross-functional teams (market-facing, technical, operational) to drive outcomes.
• Coach and develop product managers, fostering a high-performing team.
• Guide continuous discovery and delivery, ensuring alignment with client needs and business goals.
• Make necessary pivots in product strategy and roadmap needed to achieve business objectives for new customer acquisition
• Manage product lifecycle, from market research and competitive analysis to feature prioritization, release management, and stakeholder feedback.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, sales, and other teams to deliver high-value solutions.
• Innovate with emerging technologies and drive market success through strategic pricing, packaging, and positioning.
• Maintain organizational reporting, and share best practices to continuously improve processes and outcomes.

Leaders are expected to spend time with their teams and clients and therefore are generally expected to be in the workplace a minimum of three days a week subject to business needs.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Required Qualifications

2-4 years experience with product-led growth customer acquisition models

3-5 years experience working with environmental, weather, and climate data products and customer use cases.

Collaboration experience with IBM Research to drive new innovation aligned with your product’s strategy

Leadership in fast-paced environments with multiple assignments.

Strategic thinker with a deep understanding of market and client needs.

Strong ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.

Exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and risk assessment.

In-depth knowledge of the software development lifecycle.

Collaborative, proactive, and data-driven, with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Experience in people management or team leadership

Expertise in carbon accounting, ESG reporting, or other sustainability related fields

Experience managing vendor relationships and contracts

Ability to travel occasionally
