Summary

Amwins Group Benefits, LLC. has an opening for a self-motivated Senior Software Developer to join the Technology Services team to work with the team to modernize existing group benefit applications and build new capabilities. The Software Developer understands employee benefit enrollment administration business problems and opportunities in the context of internal operations, external clients’ needs and recommends solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals of streamlining with automation and efficiency.

Key Functions/Responsibilities (include But Not Limited To)
• Develop web applications and related functionality to support business requirements.
• Follow Amwins software development standards and best practices when delivering solutions.
• Act as a mentor for junior team members.
• Continuously learn about the clients we support and markets we serve.
• Participate in legacy application modernization projects.
• Build and maintain technical documentation.
• Develop estimates for requested functionality and enhancements.
• Participate in team standups and status meetings as needed.

A successful candidate will have spent significant time working with the types of business needs above and the development tools used at Amwins. Core applications utilize C#, Microsoft SQL Server, and related technologies.

• Ability to effectively communicate with leadership in a confident manner.
• Strong critical thinking skills.

• Demonstrated time management skills.
• Ability to analyze, interpret, and apply operations research rules and procedures in a variety of situations and recommend solutions to leadership.

Education & Experience
• BA or BS degree in Computer Science / Computer Information Systems or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ Years of relevant experience developing software applications using C#, .NET, SQL Server, and related technologies.
• Proficiency in MS Office 365 applications.
