Experience in Operations Financial Analysis in a automotive or manufacturing environment required
The Operations Financial Analyst is responsible for operations financial reporting. This position applies principles of cost accounting to conduct studies that provide detailed cost information not supplied by general accounting systems.
Responsibilities:
Oversees operations financial reporting and prepares a variety of reports for management.
Develops and maintains spreadsheets to track cost changes and their impact on financials.
• Plans studies and collects data to determine costs of business activity, such productivity and inventory control.
• Identifies ways to streamline reports in order to improve efficiency within the operations finance group. Presents proposed changes to the Operations Controller and oversees implementation.
• Utilizes a variety of software programs to prepare reports including Business Intelligence, Hyperion, Oracle and Agile.
• Oversees an annual asset physical inventory. Ensures there is a process in place at the plants to document and tag assets.
• Participates in the annual budget process which includes analyzing information and preparing cost estimates for numerous budgeted items. Assists with raw materials budgets and works in cooperation with the materials department at each plant.
• Lead the monthly financial forecast process including a review of plant submitted forecasts and ensure data is properly represented in the reporting system (Hyperion).
• Provides advice and guidance to plant Controllers on operations reporting.
• Analyzes changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, and/or services provided to determine effect on costs.
• Analyzes actual manufacturing costs and prepares periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
• Participate in the development, execution and ongoings support of a rolling forecasting model.
• Provides management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
• Provides assistance to the Operations Controller with operations finance projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• At least 4 years experience in operations finance/cost accounting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Office applications--Word, Excel (pivot tables), Access, and Microsoft Outlook.
• Proficiency with Manufacturing ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
• Proficiency with reporting software.
