Job Title: Data Scientist (5)

Location: Hybrid in Raleigh, NC

Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance

Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident only

Background:

The Client Advanced Modeling Group (AMG) continues its mission to employ advanced data analytics and visualization techniques to provide decision aids to Client Leadership. Supplier resources will provide targeted technical services to co-create capability offerings and pioneer new technology adoptions within the AMG and across the Client.

To further AMG goals, the Supplier will collaborate with various Client and Supplier teams to ensure delivery of effective analytics solutions. Close collaboration between technical and functional resources will foster this continued capability expansion and Client business unit partnership.

Scope:

In today's economy, the Client must respond faster than ever before; and we must base that response on insights from data analytics modeling instead of "years of experience” or historical reporting. The Data Science and Exploration group will provide the organization with future-oriented analyses that can be used to help drive changes and improvements in business practices. By employing analytical techniques, applied to research data, which go beyond simply describing the data we will be able to explore the hidden relationships and patterns within the data.

Description:

The Supplier will provide both domain and data science technical skills to ensure effective delivery of analytics products. When applicable, the Supplier will utilize innovative technology to expand a study's business value and catalyze adoption. Innovative studies will be conducted using a phased approach predicated on an insight driven model (visioning, wireframing, exploration, prototyping, and scaling) as emerging capability offerings.

Individual projects within this task will vary in both complexity and scope. These projects will blend disparate numerical, textual, and image data sources, enrich curated data through statistical, algorithmic, or model-driven transformations and leverage predictive methods, data visualization, and other relevant content preparation for the final analytics product. Following basic requirements development, analysis product development will follow an Agile- or Spiral-style development model to ensure the product meets the business unit's needs with minimal rework. The Supplier will operate in the AMG Enterprise Data Lake (EDL) environment and utilize the visualization and analytics tools currently in use at the Client. If there is a tool capability gap, resources will work with the AMG team to explore the option of using open source and desktop instances to advance the study within both the physical and virtual limits of these environments.
