Position Summary:
Tury Research Consulting is seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Subject Matter Expert (SME) in justice or court program evaluation for future contract opportunities. This role is ideal for professionals who have a passion for research and evaluation within the justice system and have completed at least one or two justice-related or court program evaluations as part of a thesis, dissertation, or previous work. The ideal candidate will have been the author or co-author of publicly available evaluation reports and be able to provide these as part of the application process. Responsibilities:
· Program Evaluation: Lead and contribute to the evaluation of justice or court-related programs, ensuring that all evaluations are methodologically sound and meet the highest standards of quality.
· Data Collection & Analysis: Design and implement data collection strategies, including qualitative and quantitative methods, to gather relevant data for program evaluation.
· Report Writing: Prepare comprehensive evaluation reports that clearly communicate findings, conclusions, and recommendations to various stakeholders, including governmental agencies, nonprofit organizations, and other justice system stakeholders.
· Consultation & Advisory: Provide expert advice and guidance on best practices for justice and court program evaluation, including the development of evaluation frameworks, indicators, and metrics.
· Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the evaluation process is aligned with program goals and objectives, and that findings are used effectively to inform program improvement.
· Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest trends, methodologies, and advancements in the field of justice and court program evaluation and apply this knowledge to improve evaluation practices within the company.
· Mentorship & Training: Offer mentorship and training to junior evaluators and researchers, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and professional development within the team.
Required Qualifications:
· Educational Background: Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Criminology, Sociology, Public Administration, Public Policy, Law, or a related field.
· Experience: Minimum of 1-2 evaluations of justice-related or court programs conducted as part of a thesis, dissertation, or in a professional setting.
· Report Authorship: Demonstrated experience as an author or co-author of publicly available evaluation reports, with the ability to provide copies of these reports.
· Research & Analytical Skills: Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills, with experience in data collection, analysis, and interpretation within the context of justice or court program evaluation.
· Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings in a clear and concise manner.
· Technical Proficiency: Proficient in relevant evaluation and statistical software (e.g., NVivo, SPSS, Stata, R) and familiar with data visualization tools.
· Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently and remotely, managing time effectively to meet project deadlines.
