Bun is on a mission to make building with JavaScript more productive. Bun is an all-in-one JavaScript runtime, bundler, transpiler, package manager and test runner.
We are seeking a Developer Experience Engineer on-site in San Francisco to enhance the end-to-end experience of using Bun. This role is extremely important for getting more people & companies to switch to Bun.
Responsibilities
• Advocacy and Community Engagement: Actively promote Bun in the developer community. This includes social media (Twitter, Reddit), public speaking, writing blog posts, and participating in relevant forums and discussions
• Integration development: Create and maintain integrations with various third-party projects on GitHub. Focus on ensuring seamless compatibility of Bun with popular frameworks and libraries
• Documentation and Support: Contribute to the development of clear, comprehensive documentation. Assist in writing TypeScript types and provide support in resolving technical issues faced by the user community.
• Feedback Loop: Work closely with the development team to relay feedback from users and suggest improvements. Play a crucial role in shaping the future direction of Bun based on user needs
• Self-motivated, high-agency: We are looking for people who are willing to fix it when using Bun is harder than it should be. When part of Bun isn't good, it should bother you.
• Know how to build things: Part of your job will be building things with Bun. Past experience with projects you built from scratch should form the basis of many of your opinions.
• Excellent communicator: You will be expected to write content about Bun and respond to questions from people who sometimes may be confused or unhelpful. It's important for you are able to foster a positive response.
• JavaScript experience: To be effective in this role, you must have work experience using JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
