Clean Energy Project Lead / Business Intelligence Design Lead

Overview

Con Edison, a multibillion-dollar energy utility, is leading the clean energy transition in New York City and Westchester County. We are investing hundreds of millions of dollars annually to integrate distributed resources into our electric and gas systems, support electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and scale adoption of energy efficiency and clean heating technologies across our customers.The Business Intelligence (BI) Design Lead will implement information strategy for Customer Clean Energy Programs (CCEP). In this role the BI Design Lead will support Strategy and Program Delivery teams, and work with Data & Analytics to leverage internal and external data for decision making and strategic action. The BI Design Lead will have solid knowledge of and experience with industry data and have a good understanding of the transactional data generated by CCEP programs. The Design Lead will gather, create and execute on data and information use cases that enhance performance tracking, optimizes operational processes, improves customer targeting and acquisition, monitors and manages risk, and advises planning decisions. The BI Design Lead will report to the Department Manager for Program Design, collaborating with other design leads to organize data for informed design.

Core Responsibilities
• Implement information strategy for Customer Clean Energy Programs (CCEP). In this role the BI Design Lead will support Strategy and Program Delivery teams, and work with Data & Analytics to leverage internal and external data for decision making and strategic action.
• Use experience and knowledge of industry data, combined with transactional data generated by CCEP programs to develop meaningful insights that inform and direct action.
• Gather, create, and execute on data and information use cases that enhance performance tracking, optimizes operational processes, improves customer targeting and acquisition, monitors and manages risk, and advises planning decisions.
• Translate business short-term and long term objectives into data and information requirements and metrics necessary to define and measure performance success in priority areas.
• Explore and discover opportunities to leverage new and existing data to close gaps, reduce operational bottlenecks, and improve day to day program management.
• Implement information strategy for sales targeting and sales conversion, working with Business Development team, Market Research, Program Delivery, Data & Analytics, and Program Design Leads.
• Seek trends and patterns in data that identify risk and support the Compliance Team to implement risk monitoring across CCEP offerings.
• Serve as business information consultant for reporting, metrics, and other analytics needed by any group within CCEP.
• Oversee business requirements for reports and dashboards and other requests for analytical tools.
• Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
• Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of work experience.

Relevant Work Experience
• 2 years Experience with energy efficiency and/ or demand management, energy, utility, buildings, real estate data, and knowledge of industry best practices and data standards. Required
• 2 years Experience in a data & analytics, or data visualization role or similar. Required
• 2 years Experience in a role managing a team or leading a business function. Required
• Business savvy. Demonstrated understanding of marketing, sales, operations, budgets and forecasting. Required
• Demonstrated ability to manipulate, organize, and present data clearly to various audiences. Required
• Experience running queries and using data tools and analytics platforms to transform large or complex data to usable insights and information. Required
• Understanding and knowledge of databases, data management best practices, SQL queries. Required
• Excellent written and oral communication, including data visualization. Required
• Analytical and critical thinker with demonstrated problem-solving skills and creativity. Required
• Ability to drive results by working collaboratively with various levels of stakeholders. Required
• Agility in learning and application of knowledge quickly, and iteratively. Required
• Ability to translate business needs into data requirements. Required
• Familiarity with BI platforms like Power BI, Oracle BI, tableau, or similar. Required

Licenses And Certifications
• Driver's License Required

Additional Physical Demands
• Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
• Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
