Data Engineer
Hybrid 3x onsite in Los Angeles, CA
$130K - $150K + benefits
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer based in Los Angeles, California. The individual will be part of our dynamic team, focusing on data warehousing, data pipelining, and other big data technologies. The role involves close collaboration with data scientists and software development teams to ensure seamless data engineering solutions.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop scalable data pipelines to support dynamic pricing models.
Collaborate with data scientists to prepare data for model training, validation, and deployment.
Implement and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows to ensure continuous and reliable data integration.
Work with the software development team to integrate data engineering solutions into the broader product architecture.
Ensure data governance and compliance with relevant data privacy and security regulations.
Engage with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate these into technical specifications.
Document data engineering processes and contribute to best practices.
Utilize SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.
Leverage cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or Databricks.
Use Python/Spark SQL, PowerBI, and real-time data pipelines (kafka, event hubs, spark streaming).
Display strong problem-solving skills and the ability to switch gears quickly and cope with change.
Demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Requirements
Proficiency in Apache Spark, Cloud Technologies, and Database management
Strong skills in Analytics and Apache Hadoop
Knowledge of API Development, AWS Technologies, and Azure Databricks
Proficiency in Machine Learning and Python
Experience with Power BI and Apache Kafka
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
Prior experience in a similar role
Familiarity with Data Engineering best practices and standards
Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
