The Li Lab, located at the UCSF Parnassus Heights campus, is seeking a highly motivated candidate with a background in both computational biology and molecular biology. The candidate will conduct studies of the molecular mechanisms of placenta development and the interactions between cell types at the maternal-fetal interface during pregnancy. This role involves working with primary samples to investigate the pregnancy complications using next-generation sequencing tools and developing novel algorithms for genomic data analysis. Expertise in single-cell and spatial genomics, machine learning, statistics, molecular biology experiments and knowledge in placenta biology is required. This full-time position will involve close collaboration with the Principal Investigator (PI) and other lab members.
As a member of the vibrant research community at UCSF Parnassus, you will perform molecular biology experiments, process primary samples, construct libraries, manage lab stocks and supplies, conduct independent literature research, and handle large-scale computational data analysis. This one-year position is ideal for someone with both dry and wet lab experience who seeks further research experience for career development. Strong communication skills are essential. While reappointment is possible, it is not guaranteed.
