At Vital Farms, we are proud of our incredible stakeholders, and the diversity they represent from all areas and communities in which we operate and serve. We view this as a source of strength for us and your job is to help us make it even better.

Your Role:

Reporting to the Director of Farm Growth, Planning & Business Development, the Farm Recruiting Manager will recruit dedicated and passionate new farmers to help grow our network of small family farms. You’ll scour the pasture belt for potential new farmers. When you connect with someone passionate about animal welfare, with the most perfect piece of property and a desire to raise the standards for laying hens, you will introduce them to Vital Farms. You will sit on the same side of the table to share our way of doing business to support our stakeholders and explain what it takes to be a successful farmer at Vital. You will focus on the northeaster portion of the belt, but you have such a talent for sourcing new farmers and creating relationships that you will share your leads with the Farm Recruiter for the western and southeastern portion of the belt.

What You’ll Do:
• Build farmer pipelines through community meetings, attending and exhibiting at local/ regional/ national events, word of mouth referrals, through partnering with marketing on advertising campaigns in your regions, engagement with financial institutions and more.
• Work with the Lead Generation Specialist to track and manage pipeline to turn qualified leads into Vital Farms farmers.
• Schedule and host community meetings with prospective farmers to detail our end-to-end recruiting and onboarding processes
• Create and maintain relationships with interested potential farmers and support qualified farmers throughout the entire sales cycle through contract signing
• Walk the farmer’s land to assess property. Determine if land meets our internal standards and formally approve/reject land for building.
• Ensure farmer’s ability to secure financing and support farmer through loan application, grants approval, and other financial processes.
• Collaborate with Lead Generation Specialist to ensure all paperwork for each potential new farmer is collected and stored to maintain a proper system of record
• Follow a clearly defined process, ensuring a positive experience for all stakeholders
• Work closely with the potential farmer from initial introduction to contract signing before transitioning the relationship to the Building Project Manager
• Continually place the farmer at the center of our thinking: relay process improvements and areas of opportunity to Dr. of Farm Growth

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, or related field; will consider experience as substitute for education
• 5+ years of relevant experience within the poultry industry required
