As a Statistical Project Leader in our PHO specializing in Clinical/Growth Development, you will be responsible for leading development, business processes projects to review and organize data in a way that effectively tells a story to support various projects within the organization and its stakeholders.
Statistical Project Leader Roles & Responsibilities:
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and objectives related to clinical or service line growth development.
• Identifying and gathering relevant data sources, both structured and unstructured, ensuring data quality and integrity.
• Cleaning, preprocessing, and organizing data to prepare it for analysis, utilizing tools and techniques such as data wrangling, data transformation, and feature engineering.
• Applying statistical analysis and machine learning techniques to extract insights from data and uncover patterns, trends, and correlations.
• Developing data visualizations, dashboards, and reports to effectively communicate findings and tell a compelling story that supports project goals and decision-making.
• Providing actionable recommendations based on data insights to inform clinical strategies, growth initiatives, and operational improvements.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to iterate on data analysis and visualization deliverables, incorporating feedback and refining approaches as needed.
• Staying current with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in data science, particularly as they relate to clinical research and healthcare analytics.
• Leading a project or several indications within a project in strategic development, clinical development and business process management.
• Providing statistical support and scientific leadership for responsible projects with minimal direction from senior officers.
• Being accountable for statistical aspects of project development plans, studies, and submission activities, ensuring quality, relevance to stakeholders (e.g., regulatory authorities, medical journals), and scientific validity.
• Mentoring individuals working on the project, promoting teamwork, quality, operational efficiency, and innovation, and creating a productive work environment.
• Ensuring project team develops and or complies with SOPs and departmental standards.
• Planning and tracking project activities, timelines, and resource use, and providing justification for planned resource needs.
• Seeking to optimize resource utilization through efficient and well-managed resource allocation across projects or areas and capacity to respond to unscheduled increases in project workload.
• Ensuring productive collaborations with other functions in the aligned project team in conjunction with Nashville General Hospital leaders and staff to produce statistical project outcomes, as well as effectively communicate with senior leadership.
• Representing statistics in cross-function working groups and contributing to operational process optimization while providing inputs to statistics standards.
• Produce data to support storytelling
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in data science, with a focus on analyzing healthcare or clinical data.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis and machine learning.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib/seaborn.
• Strong understanding of statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and predictive modeling techniques.
• Familiarity with healthcare data standards, terminologies, and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HL7, ICD-10, CPT).
Soft Skills:
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering high-quality results within specified timelines.
• Adaptability and willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and methodologies.
