Responsible for creating and leading the strategic vision for growing a world-class workforce for the diverse economy of Hamilton County. The person in the position reports to the Future Ready Students Director and will work closely with the surrounding post-secondary institutions, community workforce, and Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce. This position will also play a large role in ensuring that Hamilton County’s CTE programs and teachers have the resources they need to provide the very best to the students by leading the Hamilton County School’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs at the district level by facilitating the professional learning, planning, research, and modeling required for CTE teachers and leaders both at the district level and at the building level.
Will work with the Director of Future Ready Students in order to provide high school CTE students with Early PostSecondary Opportunities and Work Based Learning opportunities within their CTE Program of Study as well as elementary and middle school students Career Exploration opportunities that will help the student identify their best fit for future plans.
Responsibilities
• Development, execution, and oversight of the Hamilton County Schools Workforce and Career Pathways Strategic Plan
• Provides oversight for the creation and implementation of activities that enhance career awareness and selection for the future Hamilton County workforce through Hamilton County Schools
• Facilitation of business and industry sector councils for Hamilton County Schools’ career clusters to include bi-annual meeting management and oversight for council goals. This includes related and signature events that highlight, showcase, and engage each target sector.
• Support Hamilton County Schools’ institutional partnerships to include connecting individuals with institutional contacts for admissions/enrollment.
• Develop strong and meaningful relationships with employers, Hamilton County Schools teachers, local administrators, and other workforce development partners.
• Make presentations to students, administrators, school board, industry councils and other stakeholders as necessary.

• Develop effective, contemporary, professional, and responsive programs to meet area economic and workforce needs.
• Analyzes data, determines if performance standards and benchmarks are met, and makes recommendations for improvement plans.
• Coordinates data collection required for facility renovations needed to improve on upgrade course sequences in Career and Technical Education and make recommendations based on data.
• Maintains working relationships with school staff, community, and state agencies as necessary to obtain and communicate information required to implement all aspects of the Career and Technical Education programs.
• Maintains close working relationships with community and state agencies and area business industries, and labor organizations, in order to provide training consistent with needs, and establishes advisory committees as needed.
• Works with career/technical teachers individually and departmentally to assist in program development, improvement, and review.
• Provide Professional Development ensuring labor market information is used to inform all Programs of Study.
• Training teachers, faculty, specialized instructional support personnel and career guidance to effectively teach students, including a focus on students with disabilities and English Learners.
• Attends work regularly and arrives to work on time.
• Maintains confidentiality.
• Adheres to the Teacher Code of Ethics.
• Provide user technical support.
