About the role:
This is a unique opportunity to join a multi-disciplined team of experienced individuals who drive the opportunity identification and solution design, development, and deployment of advanced analytics across the global enterprise. The team is responsible both for analytics strategy and project-based solutions, focusing on the company’s most critical business areas.
As a data scientist, you will be responsible for working with a cross functional team of data scientists, developers and data engineers seeking to solve GM's most pressing challenges using AI, Machine Learning, and other Advanced Analytics methodologies. As a product team member, you will be responsible for part/parts of the entire data science lifecycle process, from initial investigation, to proof-of-concept development, to productization and deployment, insights generation, to final enhancement, hardening and maintenance. Especially, you will be responsible for end-to-end pipeline creation and UI development for insight delivery to business clients.
What You’ll Do:
• Work as a member of a cross-functional team to implement high-impact data driven analytic solutions that address business challenges across a variety of business units.
• Create end-to-end CICD pipeline in both cloud and on-prem environments.
• Develop UI application to deliver insights to business clients.
• Understand predictive models and machine-learning algorithms.
• Analyze large amounts of diverse information to discover trends and patterns.
• Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data.
• Monitor and sustain model effectiveness.
• Create technical documents for models and processes.
• Present complex information using data visualization techniques.
• Create repeatable and scalable codes and processes for improving development/execution efficiency.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
• A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, statistics, mathematics, physics, econometrics, or a related degree (MS or Ph.D. preferred).
• A minimum of 3 years working as a data scientist or application developer (2 years with MS)
• Expertise in Python, Databricks and other cloud-based data science platforms, and proficiency in SQL.
• Expertise in UI development tools, such as React, Python/Dash.
• Good understanding across multiple domains of forecasting, clustering, classification, econometrics, optimization, Bayesian statistics, neural networks, deep learning, natural language processing, LLM, and other machine learning and AI methodologies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated working experiences with cross-function product team.
