The Austin Weightlifting Club is currently seeking a part-time Back Office Admin. The Back Office Admin oversees and performs the role of an administrative assistant for the owners of Austin Barbell. This position is responsible for completing back office tasks, programs, and activities. This position is also responsible for the daily operation of the business related tasks, lead nurturing, expense management. This individual must be service-oriented, have the ability to solve problems, contribute to building solutions and understand how to achieve goals of the business and objectives.
Location(s): In Office - St Elmo (South Austin)
Experience
• A minimum of 1 years of professional experience in a service business; fitness, sports management, or recreation industry preferred.
• Must have a strong work ethic, the ability to prioritize tasks, ask questions and deliver results when time constrained.
• The ideal candidate should be goal/detail oriented and complete complex tasks with autonomy.
• Some "in-person" sales experience is preferred.
Assigned Hours
• Part time: 15-20+ hours per week required, with occasional nights or weekends. The ideal candidate will have the ability to grow into a full time role of 30+ hours per week.
Duties:
• Relentlessly focused on providing the best possible experience for members, guests, vendors, employees and owners.
• Proactively own back office processes, workflows and reporting.
• Maintains complete knowledge of Austin Barbell product and program(s), service offerings.
• Collaborates with Owner(s), staff and coaches.
• Possesses thorough knowledge of Austin Barbell policies and procedures.
• Retail & inventory management.
• Austin ISD grading & reporting (TA tasks)
• Office skills (Sheets, Email, Docs, Calendar)
• Website updates and landing pages
• Solicit Google Reviews
• Basic marketing skills
• Time-Sheet and Coach Session processing
• Coordinates and participates in special events and programs sponsored by Austin Barbell as required.
• Assist and develop upcoming promotions or marketing initiatives.
Reporting:
• Complete daily action plans to achieve weekly and monthly goals.
• Manage retail systems (inventory, forecasting, shrink, and merchandising)
• Assist Owner(s) and bookkeeper(s) in managing expenses and bills.
General Duties:
• Develop and manage a network of credible business contacts including, but not limited to, business development/referral opportunities, vendor/suppliers, and partners.
• Act as a liaison between the business, members, and local community.
• Maintain a professional appearance by dressing and presenting a polished image.
• All other duties as assigned by the Owner(s).
Responsibilities of all Austin Barbell Positions
• Support and articulate the Austin Barbell mission statement.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Ensure cleanliness of the club(s) and facilities using all 5 senses:
• Sight to ensure club is neat and orderly
• Sound to ensure music/ sound levels are appropriate
• Touch to ensure floors, countertops, etc. are clean and dry
• Taste to ensure food & beverages are up-to-standards
• Smell to ensure the club is fresh and odor free
