Family-owned operation with 500 cows, 1500 hd feedlot, and about 1000 acres of corn crop ground
Duties include but not limited to: mixing feed rations, feeding, maintaining fences in feedlot, pulling sick cattle, treating sick cattle, processing new cattle, cleaning yards, calving out cows, tagging and vaccinating calves, branding, maintaining pasture fence, checking pairs during the summer, help with weaning in the fall
This is a NON-HORSE operation
Currently a father-son operation (father slowing down) with 1 full-time employee and seasonal help for planting and harvest
Farm is willing to offer up to $20/ hour, housing is available (3 bed/1 bath house in country on main road 1 mile from town)
Flexible with time off if given notice
This is not an 8-5 job
Start at 7 am and will try to be done at a reasonable hour (5, 6, 7, ? depending on season), willingness to work late once in a while is appreciated and ask that employee work every other weekend
Flexible if employee wants to attend church (currently have 1 Catholic, 2 Lutheran, 1 Methodist, and 1 Evangelical Free in the immediate area)
There is a good K-12 School in town with about 30 in a class
