Washington County's Department of Facilities, Fleet, and Parks is looking for an experienced Software Application Specialist to join the Administrative Team. This team guides, leads, and coordinates staff within and across the various business functions of the Facilities Division to create safe, welcoming, and comfortable public spaces for the diverse staff, citizens, and visitors of Washington County. The Facilities Division takes great pride in the planning, construction, maintenance, and repair of nearly 45 County-owned buildings (over 1.9 million square feet), grounds, parks, and associated hardscape.
The Software Application Specialist will work to research improvements in processes and software tools and tool usage within the Facilities Division. They will provide user training and support on existing and new software tools and processes. They may be tasked with data analysis and cleanup for existing systems to make them more effective and reliable. The ideal candidate for this position has a strong level of software application and technology maintenance knowledge and will be committed to contributing to an inclusive and safe space for everyone within and interacting with the Facilities, Fleet , & Parks Department. They are an energetic software application professional with a passion for public service, an eye for detail, and a strong work ethic , and are able to multi-task and adapt to reactive and emergency situations, demonstrate good communication skills, and have consistent attendance. They enjoy performing routine software application tasks, data extraction tasks, produce or provide training on software programs to staff, understand work order programs and their integrations into other financial, project management or enterprise reporting programs, and leading small projects when assigned. They are a team player and can swiftly shift priorities to respond to urgent work requests with pride, professionalism, and a positive demeanor.

Minimum Qualifications
• One (1) year of college-level coursework in computer science or a closely related field; AND
• Three (3) years of experience providing computer hardware and software support (applicable certifications may substitute for the education and experience requirements, may vary by department).
