Now they’re looking for you: their new Android Mobile Software Engineer to join their team.
What you’ll be doing:
As an Android Mobile Software Engineer, you will work with the frontend team and report to the Director of Engineering.
Practically speaking, you will:
• Collaborate to design and develop new features in a mobile app used by millions of users
• Refactor and update existing code to use modern architecture
• Handle merge requests and code reviews, enforcing standards and best practices
• Participate in Agile process (sprint planning, estimation, retrospectives, stand-ups)
• Identify new and emerging technologies to improve our app capabilities
• Improve our resilience, scalability, performance and quality
• Use your energy, passion, and creativity to build best-in-class consumer experiences
• Stay close to customer problems and solve them with urgency
• Operate in a fast-moving environment, make quick data-driven, customer-centric decisions, and execute fiercely to deliver outcomes
• Think long-term and build the road to get there, by launching high-quality features and products that customers need
• Be working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders including senior leaders across continents and time zones.
The Details
This is a full-time 100% remote permanent position. The ideal candidate should be authorized to work in Canada. This position offers a competitive annual salary (commensurate with experience), health benefits, and unlimited vacation time.
What you’ll bring:
• 1+ year of experience as a Software Engineer designing high-scale consumer-facing Android applications.
• Experience with Jetpack architecture and/or MVVM design.
• Understanding of Material Design UI, Compose, Dagger/Hilt, Room, and Coroutines/Flow.
• B.Sc. in Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
Strong assets:
• Experience working with a Gaming or Shopping platforms
