Our client (Austin based general contractor) is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead the Business Development/Marketing team, focusing on identifying leads, proactively prospecting, and closing deals for ground-up and tenant finish-out construction projects. This role is crucial in building, maintaining, and expanding long-term client relationships to increase revenue and achieve or surpass annual sales and lead generation targets. The Business Development Manager regularly meets with prospective and existing clients within the market area, delivers sales presentations, follows up with key decision-makers, and promotes the company's services.
JOB RESPONSIBILTIES:
• Lead and manage the Business Development and Marketing team to achieve the company's sales metrics.
• Identify and qualify leads, manage prospects, and secure new projects to meet targeted revenue and profit goals.
• Develop detailed profiles on prospective clients to support new business acquisition.
• Stay informed about competitive trends in the market to anticipate changing customer needs and proactively manage the client base.
• Communicate proactively with customers and coordinate with the company’s pricing strategies.
• Prepare and deliver sales presentations to expand the existing client base and follow up with key decision-makers.
• Establish and nurture long-term relationships within the target market.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of the company’s services and pricing, and leverage this to grow revenue from both existing and prospective clients.
• Regularly meet with senior management to review sales activities and customer outreach efforts.
• * Enhance company visibility by participating in company-sponsored activities and representing the company at trade shows, chamber of commerce events, and community events as needed.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of Customer Service Agreements, CRM entries, and other reports.
• Respond promptly to inquiries from customers and prospective clients.
REQUIRED EDUCTION & EXPERIENCE:
• Proven experience in direct sales within the construction industry, with a focus on customer-facing roles that involve identifying and addressing client needs.
• Consistent track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas over multiple years.
• Professional presentation, with high levels of self-confidence and motivation.
• Strong time management skills to efficiently complete assigned tasks and responsibilities.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with all levels of management, both internally and externally.
• Strong active listening skills, ensuring full attention to others, understanding their points, asking relevant questions, and allowing them to fully express their ideas.
