Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for a Business Development Senior Manager - Data Analytics. This position could be based in any of our U.S. offices (Austin; Chicago; Boston; Houston; Los Angeles; New York; Menlo Park; Orange County; Portland; Sacramento; San Francisco; Santa Monica; Seattle; Washington DC; or Wheeling, WV) and consideration given for 100% remote US locations.
The Objective: As the Data Analytics Senior Manager, you will lead the Data Analytics team at the center of a data-driven Business Development (BD) department.
What will I do? The team will analyze complex data sets and generate reports including Financial Reporting, Website Analytics, Outcomes Reporting, and Media Monitoring. The Senior Manager will be responsible for creating the processes and guidelines for data analysis and data set management for the team and the department. The Senior Manager will also be responsible for ensuring continuity between team members and the rest of the BD department.
Our ideal candidate will have strong leadership and collaboration skills, a deep understanding of data analytics, a keen strategic eye and the ability to communicate complex data insights to stakeholders in ways that are easily digestible.
How will I spend my time? You will spend most of your time on these responsibilities:
• Ensure that team deliverables are actioned in line with department processes and guidelines
• Lead and mentor the team including fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment
• Oversee data collection, storage, and analysis processes
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Advocate for data-driven decision-making within the organization
• Identify opportunities to enhance data analytics capabilities and processes
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and provide appropriate and strategic solutions
• Collaborate closely with various department stakeholders, including Research & Insights, Orrick Analytics and Digital Technology & Data, to develop deliverables to advance the firm’s strategic goals and empower the BD Department to use data to problem solve, address client and lawyer asks and uncover new ways of doing things
• Act as a data ambassador across BD, ensuring strong data governance throughout the department
• Evaluate internal and, where applicable, third-party systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, and develop and maintain protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data
• Lead the implementation of new tools and technologies to improve data analysis efficiency and effectiveness
• Active adherence of data governance principles and stewardship responsibilities to ensure the precision, integrity and uniformity of data throughout the BD systems and platforms
• Adhere to and oversee the team’s adherence to all workflow and time recording policies and procedures and make recommendations to improve operational efficiency
• Ability to work in the office and travel as requested
• Ability to work overtime and outside of normal working hours as required

Compensation and Benefits
The expected salary range for this position is between:
• California Major Markets* $139,000 - $195,000
• New York City $154,000 - $195,000
• National $129,000 - $165,000
• California Major Markets includes San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Orange County, Santa Monica. All other California locations fall within National range.
Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick’s estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography.
