Position Specific Description
The Senior Project Manager with our Transmission Origination team will support the development of new and enhanced transmission projects and actively participate in regulatory and stakeholder processes at the California Energy Commission (CEC), California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), and CAISO. The Senior Project Manager will also collaborate with partners at NextEra Energy Transmission (NEET) and work closely with the development team to identify and help originate transmission opportunities in the CAISO and WECC regions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the early stages of the project lifecycle, including identifying needs and solutions, conducting financial feasibility analyses, and engaging with regulatory bodies to originate new transmission opportunities for NextEra Energy Transmission (NEET).
• Support due diligence activities for potential partnerships and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in the CAISO and WECC regions.
• Engage in relevant regulatory and stakeholder processes at the CEC, CPUC, and CAISO.
• Collaborate with NextEra Energy Transmission (NEET) partners and the development team to advance transmission projects.
Location: Remote, preferably based in California (San Francisco or San Diego areas) or on the West Coast.

This job is responsible for resource allocation, schedules, cost and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or transaction is completed in the most cost-effective and competitive manner. This position manages all aspects of the business deal and ensures the project is completed on time and within budgetary constraints.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Manages all aspects of the day-to-day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost-effective and competitive result
• Leads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations
• Responsible for managing multiple and complex projects
• Coordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects
• Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection
• Constructs contractual arrangements for project development
• Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors
• Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements
• Fosters external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the community
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience

The base pay for this position is $118,400.00 to $177,600.00 per year. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
