Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Child Life Manager, provides comprehensive music therapy services for pediatric patients and family members that meet emotional, physical, cognitive, social/cultural and communicative needs. Documents music therapy interventions in patient charts. Communicates effectively with child life staff and other members of the interdisciplinary health care team on clinical care planning and issues revealed through music therapy sessions. Supervises volunteers and interns providing music-based interventions. Maintains accurate music therapy statistics.

For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy or equivalent as required for certification by the American Music Therapy Association
• Minimum 6 months of experience working as a music therapist with children in a healthcare environment preferred; or the equivalent full time experience as a music therapist with children in a school or other community setting
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Music Therapy; 3-5 years of experience working as a music therapist.
License/Certification
• Board Certified (MT-BC), or the designation of Registered, Certified or Advance Certified Music Therapist (RMT, CMT, or ACMT) by the American Music Therapy Association
