The Business Analyst will provide day-to-day customer response across the Turnaround & HSE Excellence team. The role will primarily play an important part in supporting Refining business strategy, processes, and business-critical applications. This position will have a responsibility to collaborate with the Refining Product Owners to capture and ensure the business requirements are met with appropriate technical solutions. The individual selected must demonstrate a customer-first mentality, agile mindset, exceptional communication, and proven technical skillset to support and resolve business technology challenges. Given the technical nature of the team and the broad range of skills needed, we require self-starters who can learn quickly and work on specific technical tasks with little supervision. Assignments and compensation for Business Analyst roles vary based on the incumbent’s level of experience and capability, as well as alignment with the goals of the Refining and Midstream business.
This position is eligible at our Bartlesville, OK or Houston, TX locations.
Responsibilities May Include:
• Partnering with the Refining business to implement business-enabling solutions with a focus on value generation.
• Partnering with the Refining business to develop and progress strategic digital and capabilities roadmaps.
• Working with customers to understand business processes, troubleshoot issues, and implement business-enabling solutions in an agile manner.
• Participating on project teams to ensure proper alignment of IT solutions to the business requirements as well as IT policies and procedures.
• Building customer-centered partnerships leveraging robust interpersonal skills.
• Proactively handling ongoing change across processes and systems.
• Proactively and promptly communicating scheduled changes and unplanned outages with large customer groups.
• Demonstrating a strong commitment toward prioritizing and managing application requests with business value as a core metric.
• Working with other Phillips 66 IT teams to ensure quality application support and delivery to the customer.
• Diligently and thoroughly follow budget management, contract negotiation, and software renewal processes while focusing on customer communication, cost reduction, and application optimization.
• Decision-making that is consistently fact-based/data-driven.
• Ensuring 24x7 operational excellence of key Refining systems.
• Ensuring systems and processes are compliant with IT policies and procedures.
• Vendor management.
• Issue escalation.
Required Qualifications:
• Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
• Bachelor's degree
• 2 or more years of IT experience
• Prior experience working with vendors to implement solutions/provide oversight
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in MIS, Computer Science, or related field
• Knowledge of Phillips 66 Refining and Midstream businesses
• General IT policy knowledge
• Able to lead/guide others toward desired results
• Able to work in a team environment focused on achieving results
• Self-motivated and results-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Planning and organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Strong written and oral communication
• Strong interpersonal skills and customer focus
• Ability to present ideas and influence others
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
