Position Summary This role focuses on financial data analysis and the development and maintenance of financial models to support decision-making and financial reporting. The position involves creating SQL queries for large-scale data extraction, building financial models in Excel, and automating operational reports and processes. Collaboration with various staff members and business units is essential to fulfill the role's responsibilities. Duties: Assist the Senior Data Analyst in developing SQL queries to extract data from various data warehouses for use in financial models and ad-hoc reporting. Support the Senior Manager of Finance in completing ad-hoc requests and audit requirements within tight timelines. Maintaining financial models that are critical for understanding accounts receivable, revenue, cash receipts, and collections. Develop, monitor, and maintain data warehouses, including updating, adding new data requirements, and ensuring data integrity. Analyze and validate results from SQL query reports for reasonableness and reviewing of financial models for accuracy and consistencies. Automate manual processes by leveraging scripting or programming languages to improve efficiency and accuracy. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, preferably with a degree in business administration (finance and accounting), or a related field. Minimum 2 years of experience in financial reporting or analytics role. Intermediate proficiency in SQL, database systems and cloud platform is required, preferably on financial and customer data. Experience with SAP, SAS and Python is considered an asset. Strong background in financial analysis, accounting cycle, and understanding business operations, qualitative, and quantitative results. Solid working knowledge of MS applications including Access, Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with various software including Peoplesoft, Dbeaver, Tableau, Power BI, Salesforce and SAP is an asset. Ability to work independently, great organizational and time management skills; planning and project management, and ability to meet multiple deadlines.
