Position Summary
The Medicare Telesales Consultant position is responsible for providing top-tier sales, service and enrollment consultation to Medicare Advantage prospects for Health First Health Plans (HFHP) throughout the region. This position integrates individual and team contributions to drive critical growth metrics in meeting department and organizational goals for Health First Health Plans.
Primary Accountabilities
• Engage with Medicare Advantage prospects to provide needs-based sales consultation in a telesales environment.
• Field in-bound sales opportunities routed from various lead sources and markets while maintaining quality and performance metrics.
• Drive outbound call campaigns as determined by Medicare Sales leadership to support on-boarding, member satisfaction and other campaigns.
• Foster strong and sustainable telephonic relationships with existing and prospective members while meeting or exceeding sales goals.
• Report and document sales and retention activity as required by Medicare Sales leadership in CRM or related systems.
• Navigate existing and prospective members to appropriate internal and partner resources in securing sales opportunities and handling service inquiries.
• Communicate a seamless understanding of the Health First value proposition and suite of HFHP products offered to Medicare Advantage prospects in each region.
• Understand the competitive landscape in Medicare Advantage in each market and be able to effectively handle competitive objections.
• Work collaboratively in a team environment and across departments to support overall HFHP growth initiatives.
• Represent HFHP in accordance with all CMS, regulatory and department guidelines based upon a thorough and on-going understanding of Medicare regulations.
• Provide meaningful feedback from member engagements and competitive interactions in an effort to continually improve sales and service models within the department.
• Conduct member retention campaigns as required to meet department goals assigned by leadership.
• Manage and update Sales’ collaterals as necessary with marketing and compliance teams.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Education: High School/GED.
• Licensure:
• Florida Health insurance license required or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Valid Florida driver’s license and clean state of Florida motor vehicle record and maintain.
• Certification: AHIP certification or obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Work Experience: One year health insurance experience in a managed care organization.
• Work Experience in lieu of Education: None
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite to include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Clear communication and critical thinking skills able to represent HFHP in telephonic sales engagements.
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision in meeting or exceeding sales goals within a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to navigate basic telephony systems in working within a call center environment.

• Work Experience:
• Experience selling and/or servicing Medicare Advantage products in Florida markets.
• Two years health insurance experience in a managed care organization.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Documented ability to exceed sales goals in health insurance sales.
• Expertise in the Central Florida Medicare Advantage market and competitive landscape.
• High-level knowledge of Microsoft Office suite to include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills able to represent HFHP in telephonic sales engagements.
• Experience in navigating telephony systems in working within a call center environment.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish with ability to pass CMS language certification.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, stooping.
• Long periods of computer time or at workstation.
• Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance.
• May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to moderate noise.
• Communicating with others to exchange information.
• Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks.
• Workspace may vary from open to confined; on site or remote.
• May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.
