Purpose/Introduction
The Finance Department aims to be a trusted partner that adds value by protecting the company’s financial integrity, guiding sound business decisions and offering enriching careers in a collaborative workplace. Finance oversees financial planning and fiscal management for Chevron Phillips Chemical including accounting, financing activities, planning, and tax compliance. The department provides financial information, policy analyses and recommendations that drive sound decision-making.
Responsibilities
• Complete monthly inventory standard costing reviews, analysis, and updates
• Prepare and analyze monthly cost reports and forecasting of operating expenses for the product line and the plants
• Complete monthly FIFO inventory adjustment, margin calculation, monthly profit in inventory, quarterly LCNRV calculations, and physical inventoryadjustments
• Complete annual budget for 2-3 Performance Pipe plants and assist with staffing, manufacturing, and distribution reviews with Performance PipePlant Managers and Leadership Team
• Upload and verify forecast and budget product line data into Planful
• Complete monthly review of order and project settlements in SAP
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3-5 plus years of related experience
• Experience with an ERP system
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Strong business analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
• Thorough understanding of accounting principles
• Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate with employees at all organizational levels
• Should be a self-starter, be an active participant on teams, and proactively meet with customers to meet their needs
• Capable of recognizing, defining, and resolving issues. Ability to apply new technologies to improve business processes or solve business problems
Preferred Qualifications
• Work experience in Oil & Gas, Chemical, Energy, or related companies
• Cost accounting and inventory experience
• Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA
• Experience with Planful, Power BI, and SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office is a plus
• A strong working knowledge of SAP modules
• Open to future intercompany transfers for development
