Tyson Foods is seeking a highly motivated Data Engineer II to join our Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) team. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing and enhancing our EAM business processes and strategies. Your primary focus will be on contributing to the design and support of Tyson’s property lifecycle management strategy, with an emphasis on optimizing key processes and functions within SAP and other platforms to create a value-added property data stream.
As a Data Engineer II, you will be responsible for capturing, structuring, and recording essential data related to property acquisitions, decommission events, and the maintenance and operation phases of the property lifecycle. You will have the opportunity to work on both existing operational sites and upcoming acquisitions or divestitures, ensuring the seamless integration of data and systems. Your responsibilities will encompass platform configuration, system troubleshooting, resolution, and providing critical support to users, including system setup, training, and ongoing assistance.
This position extends beyond traditional data engineering, offering the opportunity to provide essential business analysis services to our partners, stakeholders, and IT teams. You will work closely with various departments to gain a deep understanding of business strategies, processes, and services, directly supporting Tyson's organizational property management strategy. Job Responsibilities:
• Drive Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Play a key role in the ongoing enhancement and optimization of business processes. Provide expert guidance on best practices and serve as a critical liaison between IT teams and departments such as engineering, procurement, safety, and finance/accounting.
• Data Capture and Analytics: Lead efforts to capture and analyze big data related to the property lifecycle, ensuring the accurate structuring and recording of data for property acquisition, operation, and decommissioning events.
• System Configuration and Integration: Contribute to system configuration and integration decisions, with a focus on optimizing the end-user experience. Provide expert troubleshooting and support for system deployment, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
• Solution Conceptualization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and validate solutions that meet business requirements. Ensure that proposed solutions align with organizational goals and drive business success.
• Data Management: Implement best practices for data capture, cleansing and extraction, particularly in the context of data migration. Support the transition from legacy reporting systems to cutting-edge enterprise analytics platforms.
• Training and Documentation: Develop comprehensive educational documentation and resources. Provide training to team members on applications used for property management, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge needed to succeed.
• Business and IT Alignment: Work closely with business and IT stakeholders to ensure that technology solutions are aligned with business goals. Contribute to the development of technical roadmaps that guide the future of Tyson’s property management strategy.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to develop scalable and strategic solutions that meet diverse business needs. Assist in coordinating the delivery of multi-business technology solutions, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within scope.
Requirements:
• Education/Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems (CIS), Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: 3-5 years of experience with SAP in the food industry or other manufacturing environments is preferred. Your background should include configuration, development, and data governance oversight focused on modules such as Plant Maintenance (PM), Project Systems (PS), Financial Accounting and Controlling (FICO) with a focus on Fixed Assets (FA), and Materials Management (MM).
• Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential, along with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new platforms. A basic understanding of coding languages such as ABAP, Java, HTML, and SQL is a plus. Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau, and experience with Power Automate, Power Apps, and other Microsoft Power Platform tools, will set you apart.
