e&e is seeking a SQL Server Database Administrator for a hybrid contract opportunity in Harrisburg, PA!
Description: The SQL Server Database Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical MS SQL Server systems. This role ensures the integrity, reliability, and recoverability of data across various in-house developed applications and off-the-shelf software. The successful candidate will possess solid technical skills, excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, and be available for rotating on-call duties. This position requires both independent work and collaboration with other teams.
Responsibilities:
• Manage SQL Server implementations across development, testing, and production environments.
• Maintain database servers and processes to ensure high levels of integrity, reliability, and recoverability, adhering to industry standards for performance and security.
• Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing comprehensive problem resolution.
• Automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
• Assist with providing 24x7 support for critical production systems.
• Perform scheduled maintenance, including after-hours deployment of Cumulative Updates (CUs) and Hotfixes.
• Participate in on-call rotation duties.
Requirements:
• Minimum of one year of IT experience involving the analysis, design, and maintenance of databases for database administration.
• A satisfactory criminal check is required (to be completed by AOPC).
Technical Skills:
• 3+ years of MSSQL Server administration experience.
• Extensive experience with backups, restores, and recovery models.
• Proficiency in writing T-SQL code.
• Moderate experience with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options.
• Moderate experience with SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) and SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).
• Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO) using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• MS Dynamics CRM MSSQL server administration experience.
• SharePoint MSSQL server administration experience.
• TFS MSSQL server administration experience.
• BIS for Visual Studio experience.
• Windows Server administration experience.
• VMWare vSphere experience.
